Rosebud Cannabis is Camrose, Alberta’s only locally conceived, owned, and operated combustible flower shop (aka. cannabis store). When it was announced that Alberta would be following a private cannabis retail model in 2018, the founders of Rosebud saw an opportunity to create something a little unique. Rather than another sleek, high tech cannabis boutique, they opted to build the opposite. Featuring an interior that’s a mix between ’80’s rec room’ and ‘general store’, Rosebud’s mission to make cannabis comfortable and accessible for Camrosians. In order to communicate this ethos visually, we dove head first into creating a graphic language that feels familiar yet unexpected, and that draws heavily on the blue-collar agricultural aesthetic that’s surrounded many residents their entire lives.
